Wall Street sold off on Tuesday as investors boosted their bets on the Federal Reserve raising rates later this year, while Home Depot dragged on indexes following its quarterly report.

Hong Kong stocks rose on Tuesday, encouraged by upbeat U.S. and Asian markets as well as by higher oil prices. Biggest surprise came from Japan today. The world's third-largest economy expanded an annualized 1.7 percent in the January-March period, the fastest pace in a year, blowing past market expectations for a 0.2 percent rise. On a quarterly basis, real gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.4 percent, versus the 0.1 percent analysts polled by Reuters had expected.
