U.S. stocks dipped on Thursday, pulled lower by Apple after its latest iPhone failed to impress Wall Street, but gains in energy shares limited the decline.

Hong Kong's benchmark index finished higher on Thursday as fresh inflows from mainland China persisted, and as fears of a U.S. interest rate hike this month faded. Markets will pay attention to China's CPI data due later today around 9.30 am local time.
